The Story Behind Saged

For as long as I can remember I have had digestive issues. I could go weeks without going to the toilet. I had severe pain everyday and I got so use the bloating that I just thought it was normal. My receptors stopped picking up on the urge to use the toilet and when I finally realised I did need to go the blockage was REAL.

Around 10 years later I decided to take action. I was vegetarian, mainly eating whole foods and went to the doctors who felt my stomach and told me that if I didn't change my diet I'd get cancer, she hadn't asked me anything about my diet.

I had multiple tests, colonoscopies and hospital visits and no one understood why I was experiencing these symptoms and so was put under the IBS umbrella. From this diagnosis, I decided to go on my own journey to heal my digestive system.

Fast forward 5 years, I was on my first trip to Bali attending a yoga retreat where we learnt about the science behind yoga, ayurveda, and how dis-ease in the body can be formed when we are not working to our natural rhythm. With my own personal issues, it was recommended that I make small changes to my diet. I stopped eating cold, dry food (salad, nuts, seeds) and started eating warming food and drinking ginger tea in the mornings. Within weeks I had 80% less bloating and pain.

Yes, it was that simple.

I now have regular bowel movements, practically no bloating and know very simple strategies to bring myself back into harmony if things start to fall out of balance.

I wanted to share the magic of ayurveda and how teamed with the practice of yoga, it can be a powerful tool in peoples journey of healing, connection and wellbeing. Thus, Saged was born; an infusion of yogic philosophy and ayurvedic wisdom, providing an alternative approach for people who seek holistic methods of healing the mind, body and soul.
